Chicken droppings was just a waste, but can be into natural fertilizer by carbonization hero.
One chicken farm in Japan bleeds more than 100,000 hens at each building. The chicken droppings generated per day reaches several tons and the costs of its disposal was a huge burden in operation cost. The composting has been attempted several times so far, however, it was not profittable due to the smell of chicken dropping, the difficulty of looking for possible purchaser and long-term to compost.
After the installation of Meiwa's carbonization plant, the customer got able to sell chicken dropping charcoal as a natural fertilizer with a good price and absorbed the treatment cost of chicken droppings. -
Pursuit for New Eco-System in a remote island in Okinawa.
One island in Okinawa is populated by approx.50,000 people. Here there were the problem existing that the 500,000 tons of bagasse genetated from residue of sugar canes is not reused or disposed by incineration. Though the cultivation of sugar canes was flourished, the soil degradation was caused by abuse of chemical fertilizer and thus the productivity got shrunk. A model of recycling society was a role model for that island. In this island, the local university, local government and Meiwa Co,. Ltd. cooperated as business partners and clarifed that the charcoal and wood vinegar from bagasse can effectively be used for cultivation of sugar canes.
